What is an I-REC?
An International Renewable Energy Certificate represents one megawatt-hour of renewable electricity. It carries the details of where, when and how that electricity was produced, and supports a market-based Scope 2 claim.

Will the certificates be redeemed in our name?
Yes. Redemption is made in your company's legal name, against the sites you specify, and you receive a redemption statement for every transaction.
Do I-RECs count for CDP and RE100?
I-RECs are a recognised instrument for market-based Scope 2 reporting under the GHG Protocol. If you report to RE100, we also check the certificates against its technical criteria.
